Botulinum therapy

Type A botulinum therapy is widely used in various fields of medicine. In aesthetic medicine, it is mainly used to smooth facial wrinkles.

The effect of botulinum toxin becomes noticeable 4 days after the injection, reaching its maximum result within 7-14 days. It lasts for 4-6 months. Before the injection, the client gets acquainted with the agreement, the indications and contraindications, as well as the anatomical features of the client are taken into account.

Botulinum toxin injection is indicated in the following cases: 

•   interbrow wrinkles 

• horizontal forehead wrinkles 

• wrinkles around the eyes 

• gummy smile 

• neck wrinkles 

• excessive sweating of palms/armpits/feet 

Contraindications: 

• individual intolerance 

• myasthenic and myasthenoma syndromes 

• administration of antibiotics belonging to aminoglycosides, macrolides, tetracycline, polymyxin groups, anticoagulants 

• alcohol abuse 

• pronounced gravitational dependence of facial tissues 

• presence of upper and inner eyelid hernia 

• facial surgery within the last 3 months 

• pregnancy and breastfeeding 

• malignant neoplasms 

• widespread lesions of the connective tissue 

• tendency to keloid and hypertrophic scars 

• anaphylactic shock suggested 

• presence of an inflammatory process in the injection area/acne/dermatitis/psoriasis/herpes, etc 

• somatic diseases in the period of exacerbation 

• diseases of the blood system, bleeding, taking drugs that reduce blood coagulability 

• diabetes mellitus 

• presence of other substances in the injection area
